PINK – Colour and Culture 1
I have taken inspiration from the significant amount of neon colour in Japanese culture, and also from the tiled patterns from traditional houses in my home town of Kyoto, which still exist today. I’ve also been inspired by the tiles in Glasgow tenement apartments which surround me now. The woven collection has inspiration from both modern and traditional Japanese cultures, with the suite comprising of interior products such as cushions, rugs, sofas and wall hangings, which are full of colours and textures, to provide a feeling of warmth.
