Me First, You Second
Me First, You Second is a satirical stamp series expressing Singaporean’s innermost frustration birthed from ungracious behaviours. Placed amongst the other glorious, beautiful, celebrated and honourable commemorations in Singapore, this stamp series points out our nations’ unique—never changing—an integral part of our—inconsiderate living.
Such ungracious and boorish behaviour represents Singapore both in the past and present times. We are merely just a nation packaged under a title of a ‘First World Country’ with an absence of ‘First World Citizens’. Our boorish behaviours are visualised with humour and irony, in hopes that it would encourage a more civic-minded nation, and a moment of self-reflection.
You’re either laughing or offended. Either ways, cheers to celebrating 56 years of inconsideration! Glad to see nothing have changed.
