Kératine

Kératine examines the embodiment of layering multiples stories by weaving parallels between human hair, whale baleen and narrative threads. Regrouping self-portraiture photography, book making, writing and performance in a video piece, the work is a reflection about time, suspense and pacing. It explores the relationship between the body and the camera while simultaneously pushing and pulling the viewer. It experiments the role of self-sufficient gestures like cutting hair, telling a story, writing a story until the sound of writing the story becomes the echo of telling a story.

Keratin is the key structural material making up hair, nails, feathers, whale baleen.
