A Place For Seniors To Be Young Again

AGING
We all will get old one day. Being old sometimes may be scary. Going into a new chapter in life and facing the unknowns but don’t know if we can get through the new changes in this age. Retiring from work, going to learn new things, meeting new friends, or even going to work again. All will be done in new identities. What if we are getting older but not being old?

TO BE YOUNG AGAIN
Some older people have to retire from work over a certain age by law, they are old at age but not in mind.
There is a saying in Chinese proverbs, “one who stays near vermilion gets stained red, and one who stays near ink gets stained black”. If older people stays near younger people, they will become young again!

DANCING, MUSIC PERFORMANCE, DRAMA
Through this design project, we will be exploring how an urban building makes older people younger by bringing them together with young people through dancing, music performance, drama, which are all in the category of performance art which needs to be in contact with
co-performers and audience, to raise the sense of connection and accomplishment, telling them that they are actually not that old and they are absolutely capable of marching into the new chapter of life.
