I’m a graphic designer specialising in layout design, typography, illustration and printmaking. My visual language could be characterised as bold, colourful whimsical and playful. I especially enjoy playing with colours and printmaking techniques in my projects.
I am inspired by artists and designers such as Hannah Waldron, Julian Gallese or Olle Eksell, but I also draw a lot of inspiration from my own childhood experiences as well as my environment.
Being a student during this pandemic was very challenging, but it strengthened my creativity, resourcefulness and sense of self direction.
In the future, I’m hoping to continue working on projects where I get to opportunity to mix analog and digital techniques.

Hopscotch Animation Kit
My final project, Hopscotch is a prototype animation kit to teach children how to create stop frame animations.
Cartoons and storytelling are ever present in children’s media. Considering increasingly more children or their parents own smartphones, having the right tools to create animations has become easily accessible.
Every element of the kit was handcrafted using craft based printing techniques, either using a risograph or screen printing, in order to achieve more vibrant colours and feel more connected to the creative process and reflect the tactile qualities of stop frame animation. The kit’s box, shaped like a television, contains several elements for children to create different types of animation. The kit also includes a downloadable app.

Barras Market Maps
When I first started to explore Glasgow, I came across and immediately became fascinated with Barras Market. The market takes place in the East End of Glasgow each weekend, and is comprised of stalls and stores selling an incredible variety of items. I saw it as an example of Glasgow’s living history. In this work, I aimed to convey the atmosphere and personality of the market through a series of abstract, handmade maps.

Pocketwitch
When comparing believed magical properties of selected plants and their nutritional facts, I found these to frequently overlap. Some examples include basil which in Trolldom is believed to lift the spirits of uninspired situations, and which does have some anti-depressant nutritional qualities, or lemon which in witchcraft is believed to be cleansing and purifying and has scientifically proven antiviral qualities. In Pocketwitch I combine nutrition, recipes, magical properties of plants and spellwork in a booklet for kitchen-witches, illustrated with botanical drypoint etchings. This project celebrates forgotten knowledge of natural remedies based on wisdom that has been collected and shared through generations.
