Deline Garment Printer

Deline Garment Printer

This project aimed to improve the efficiency and overall user experience of garment making. The product acts as a digital guide with the bespoke pattern geometry displayed on the high resolution touch screen. Standard fabric pens are spring-mounted to the device and print the pattern directly to the fabric as the user follows the guide. The technology within the product is designed to be as transparent as possible; the complete functionality of the device is controlled via the display using simple and familiar gestures made common by modern smartphone technology. High accuracy laser mouse sensors track the change of position and rotation of the device during printing. If the print is interrupted, then the orientation of the pattern can be recaptured by aligning the pen and rotational encoder with the last section of the print.
