GRADUATE COLLECTION

I am inspired by the landscapes surrounding us and the way in which we interact with them – exploring the contrast and similarities between the landscape and the manufactured. With an aim to focus on traditional processes and limit the use of artificial products and methods to ensure that the final product is as sustainably produced as possible while remaining commercially viable.
I am commited to creating accessible, hard wearing textiles that will stand the test of time and family life. My graduate collection takes inspiration from the bold outdoor sportswear from the mid 80’s to early 90’s contrasted with the rugged pastoral Scottish landscape. My initial research started with looking back through photos of my parents in their 20’s, bagging Munro’s and paddling rapids. During lockdown these are activities I have had more time to enjoy and they have been heavily influencing my work this year.
I work purely with wool, drawing a colour pallet that focuses on select colour matched bright yarns mixed with natural base tones.
