Hello, my name is Georgia and I’m a third year student at MSA. For my project this year, I explored modular CLT construction methods and the use of the space in-between buildings. The scheme was initiated with a box on a grid that follows the existing lines of the landscape near the Balloch pier and is developed with repetitions and patterns inspired by music-making to celebrate the orchestral practice of Sistema Scotland (client) and the relationship between music and architecture. The buildings are placed on the perimeter of a long street that embraces outside activity and accommodates at its two ends the social spaces of the ensemble.
