Emily Choo Qianyi (she/her)
I’ve drawn ever since I was a little child and I remember sitting on my room floor and painting at 3 am when I was 12, thinking: wow, I think this is the one thing I could do forever in my life—so I did! I am a freelance illustrator and small creator now. I love experimenting with new mediums and forcing myself out of my comfort zone (even when I’m suffering internally). I’m always keen on collaborations and opportunities so hit me up! I’ve always loved all things horror, gore, goth, witchy and forever fascinated by yokai and I create my original characters that are inspired by all the oddities in my head.
@theperfectmom
All parents are fearful of their children getting addicted to social media. But, they often don’t realise that they are the first step to their child’s digital footprint and in turn, their social media addiction. “You can lie to yourself all you want but it is not you who are going through the repercussions.” @theperfectmom will be placed on Instagram, social media itself, to present the often invisible repercussions of sharenting that are imposed onto the children physically.
Catharsis
We always talk about our dark aspects, shadow and inner demons in the third person point of view. But they are a part of us. Why not shine light on these dark aspects, analyse our shadow and befriend our inner demons with the one that knows us best—Ourselves.
Catharsis takes a peek into the life of the shadow and what our inner demons truly sought—our care and attention. This behind-the-scenes peek will be a cathartic journey of narrative illustration and kickstarts their shadow work journey, in hopes of self-transcendence and liberation.
