Caitlin Rose (she/her)

My work revolves around visual narratives such as comics and touches on current issues, the female form and biographical work. I’ve been working on a graphic novel throughout my masters study that I am hoping to get published in the near future.

Passing Time

My final project is a graphic novel based around the Coronavirus pandemic and lockdown. Based on my experience, and gaining insights into others who were in similar circumstances to me, the aim of the novel is to act as a memoir of what has happened over the past year. It touches on the other narratives throughout, such as the political shifts of 2020 and the ongoing dynamic situation COVID-19 has placed us (working from home, self-isolation and restrictions). This graphic novel also focuses on mental health, which is portrayed by the main protagonist as she struggles through the pandemic. By reflecting on this period in time month by month, like a calendar, to pull together the story. My aim is to capture the lasting effects that the pandemic has had on young people and graduates like myself and how we have coped during this period.

Tinfoil Hats

Tinfoil Hats was a small comic I made during my study about how frustrated I was about Covid-19 conspiracists. This was an adaptation from the dummy work that went into making my graphic novel, Passing Time.
